We are aware that most older people do not have access to the internet and that they get frustrated trying to speak to a person in this day and age. Our information and support service is available between 10am and 1pm every weekday and at other times by appointment and anyone is welcome to drop into our office to talk over a problem. We have tried to make the service as helpful as possible and will go the extra mile to help solve a problem. We have access to a large, up-to-date database of local services for older people.
Over the past year we have dealt with more than 1,200 queries covering a wide range of subjects including benefit checks and information about home helps, day centres, safety in the home, emergency alarms, disability equipment and care homes. We have also been asked where to get financial and legal advice, information on meals on wheels, insurance, transport, shopping and reliable tradesmen.
If you have a problem, call us on the above telephone number during opening hours or leave a message and we will get back to you. If the problem is urgent please ring the number supplied by the answering machine.
